Air Canada ( AC.B - TSX)

Wednesday's close $2.32, up 17¢

Air Canada should see an improvement in traffic and capacity levels to go along with its successful cost-reduction efforts, said Walter Spracklin, an analyst with RBC Dominion Securities. Fuel costs are down and international traffic is up, he said.

Upside: The share price target was raised to $5 from $2.50 and the rating to "outperform" from "sector perform."

Apple Inc. (AAPL - NASDAQ)

Wednesday's close $254.24 U.S., up $2.35

Apple Inc. is "firing on all cylinders" with its iPhone and iPad products, which could be further bolstered with

the holiday selling season and by the launch of services through Verizon Inc. early next year, said Richard Gardner, an analyst with Citigroup Global Markets.

Upside: The share price target was raised to $350 (U.S.) from $330 and the 2010 share profit increased to $14.44 from $13.93.

Aastra Technologies Ltd. (AAH - TSX)

Wednesday's close $22.59, down 90¢

Aastra Technologies Ltd., a telephone systems manufacturer, faces a weaker growth outlook, although its balance sheet remains strong and its has net cash of $5.81 a share, said Kris Thompson, an analyst with National Bank Financial. The shares yield 3.6 per cent.

Downside: The price target was reduced to $25 from $30. "Our advice is to build a position in the stock if it drifts into the high teens," he said.

Detour Gold Corp. (DGC - TSX)

Wednesday's close $23.30, down 21¢

Detour Gold Corp. has closed a $282-million equity issue raising its cash to almost $570-million or 50 per cent of the estimated cost to develop the Detour Lake gold mine in northeastern Ontario.

Upside: The shares are rated "sector outperform" and the price target was increased by $1 to $31.75 by Kerry Smith, an analyst with Haywood Securities.

Rainy River Resources Ltd. (RR - TSX VENTURE)

Wednesday's close $5.81,down 18¢

Rainy River Resources Ltd. is undertaking 40,000 metres of infill drilling aimed at improving the grade and continuity of its deposit in northwestern Ontario, which is estimated to contain five million ounces of gold and 9.4 million ounces of silver, said Paolo Lostritto, an analyst with Wellington West Capital Markets.

Upside: The shares are reiterated "buy" with a price target of $7.
