ProStation System Requirements

Basic Requirements

ProStation requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or better with Adobe Acrobat 5.0 or better. Your browser must be set to accept cookies and run javascript.

Computer Settings

For optimal viewing:

• Display setting should be 1024X768. How do I change?

  For Windows only

  1. Go to Display Properties by going to Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel
  2. Click on the Settings tab.
  3. Use your mouse to move the slider to the right for a higher screen resolution.
  4. Click OK to save the setting and close the window.

• 16-bit colour or higher for resolution. How do I change?

  1. Go to Display Properties by going to Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel
  2. Click on the Settings tab.
  3. Use the drop down option for ‘colour quality’ and select 16-bit.
  4. Click OK to save the setting and close the window.

Browsers

• Upgrade to the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer.

The following browser settings must be enabled.

• Cookies

  Cookies are small files used by your browser to recall your actions or settings on a given web page.

  To enable your browser's cookies for Internet Explorer see the following instructions below.

  1. On the browser menu, select Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Select the Privacy tab.
  3. Click the Advanced button.
  4. Ensure the box next to 'override automatic handling of cookie' is checked.
  5. Select 'Accept' under First-party Cookie, and Third-party Cookies.
  6. Click OK button to save the setting and close window.

• Security – Mixed Content

  To assure the highest degree of security and privacy for our advisors and their clients, globeadvisor.com has been designed as a securely encrypted site. However, this means that you may sometimes see popup security messages when, for example, you move from our secure site to a normal non-secure website. You can turn off these messages without compromising the security of your connection with globeadvisor.com, as follows:

  1. Under the Tools menu, select Internet Options, then the Security tab.
  2. Click Custom Level.
  3. Enable "Display Mixed Content" and "Don't prompt for client certificate selection when no certificate or only one certificate exists."
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Deselect "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode".

• JavaScript

  1. On the browser menu, select Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Choose Internet Zone icon.
  4. Click the button labelled Custom Level.
  5. Scroll down to a section heading labelled Scripting.
  6. Under Active Scripting, ensure the circle labelled Enabled is checked.
  7. Click the OK button to save setting and exit.
  8. Click the OK button to close window.

Plug-Ins

• Adobe Acrobat

  The Acrobat Reader is a plug-in for your web browser that allows you to down load print ready documents in the Portable Document Format (PDF).

  Download Acrobat from Adobe.

• Macromedia Flash

  Flash allows you to view dynamic, interactive content in your browser. Download the latest Flash plug-in from Macromedia.
