Adding Stocks

About Adding Stocks: Use this page to add the stocks you wish to track to your portfolio. Then, you can proceed to tell GlobeAdvisor the number of shares you hold in each stock. A list of the stocks already added to your portfolio appears in the grey box at the bottom of all Add Stock pages.

To add stocks, follow these steps.

  1. Enter the symbol of the stock you wish to track and its exchange code (for example, BCE-T, BCE-N). Exchanges codes are T-Toronto, M-Montreal, V-Vancouver, C-Alberta, D-CDN, N-New York, A-American, Q-NASDAQ, Q2-Nasdaq-OTC.
  2. Click the down arrow below Short Sell to indicate whether you would like to be able to short this stock (Yes or No).
  3. Optionally, you can enter comments related to this stock.
  4. Click Add this Stock. GlobeAdvisor will confirm the addition of this stock to your portfolio.
  5. At this point, you can:
  6. add another stock to your portfolio
  7. click Add Transaction if you have no other stocks to add to the portfolio and want to start entering the number of shares you hold in each stock, or
  8. click Portfolio Menu to return to the GlobeAdvisor menu page
