Adding Stocks

About Adding Stocks: Use this page to add a new stock to your portfolio. After adding the stock to your portfolio, you will be prompted to enter the number of shares you hold. A list of the stocks already added to your portfolio appears in the grey box at the bottom of the page.

To add a new stock to your portfolio, follow these steps.

  1. Enter the symbol of the stock you wish to track and its exchange code (for example, BCE-T, BCE-N). Valid exchanges codes are: T-Toronto, M-Montreal, X-Canadian Venture, D-CDN, N-New York, A-American, Q-NASDAQ, Q2-Nasdaq-OTC. You can add multiple stocks at once, separated by a space.
  2. Click the down arrow below Short Sell to indicate whether you would like to be able to short this stock (Yes or No).
  3. If the stock is delisted, you must also enter the purchase date in YYYY MM DD format.
  4. Optionally, you can enter comments related to this stock.
  5. Click Add Stock(s). GlobeAdvisor will confirm the addition of this stock to your portfolio and will prompt you to enter the number of units you own.
