Portfolio Help
One of the key decisions you make when you invest in a particular mutual fund is whether or not you will reinvest distributions owed to you from the fund. Distributions are composed of interest payments, dividends, or capital gains, depending on the type of fund. Most people who have their investments inside an RRSP choose to reinvest distributions.
GlobeAdvisor will automatically record distributions in your portfolio as they occur.
In order for GlobeAdvisor to track the value of your portfolio correctly, you must indicate when you add a fund to your portfolio whether you are reinvesting the distributions from this fund or not.
You may decide initially not to reinvest distributions, but later decide to reinvest, or vice versa. GlobeAdvisor allows you to change this information for any of your funds through the Change Reinvestment Option link on the Portfolio Menu page.
